Westerville North 73, Toledo St. Francis de Sales 52
Another dominating Warriors win as they are one game away from a state championship
FAIRBORN, OH - Compared to their prior four playoff wins this season, in which the Warriors won by an average margin of over 44 points, Westerville North’s 21 point victory over Toledo St. Francis de Sales was a nail biter.
In reality, that wasn’t much the case as the Warriors once again dominated mostly from the opening tip on Sunday at the Nutter Center. In a game they never trailed, built a double digit advantage by the end of the first quarter and had a lead as large as 26 early in the fourth, it was business as usual for a Warriors team that hasn’t lost since early December.
Despite going up against a Knights team with serious length in their front court, with two players that stand 6’9 and 6’10, the Warriors were able to dictate their preferred pace of play; which is pressuring the opposing guards, getting out in transition and spreading the love.
“Our goal is to keep coming at you, coming at you, coming at you,” Westerville North head coach Shan Trusley said after the game. “To their credit, they fought back and luckily we were the team with more points.”
