Tuesday night games to watch
No. 1 Olentangy Orange will be tested in a major way against No. 6 Hilliard Bradley on Tuesday
It’s a loaded night of hoops in Central Ohio on Tuesday. With a full slate of OCC and City League games, there’s no shortage of intriguing matchups. Here are the games to watch on Tuesday.
#6 Hilliard Bradley (7-2) at #1 Olentangy Orange (9-0)
The game of the week is tonight as Hilliard Bradley takes its six game win streak on the road to undefeated Olentangy Orange. The Jags have been a thorn in the flesh to Olentangy Orange recently, sweeping both matchups last year. The 2024 season is going to be all about matchups when it comes to the top teams, and this game is no different. Hilliard Bradley matches up really well with Olentangy Orange and has the game’s best player in Cade Norris. It’s going to be highly entertaining watching both of these backcourts go at it, as that might be where the game is won. Both teams have elite team defense, quality guards and bigs who do their job and dominate their roles. This is a first place game in the OCC-Central division, as both teams have dominated their respective counterparts and are the only teams in the league with a winning divisional record. Take a look at this matchup from last season where the Jags went into Orange and came out with a victory.
#15 Gahanna Lincoln (8-3) at #8 Grove City (8-2)
An important OCC-Ohio battle is on tap at Grove City on Tuesday. The Greyhounds are looking to bounce back from a double overtime loss to Pickerington North last Friday where they gave up their first place spot in the league. Gahanna Lincoln had similar fate on Friday as well, losing a close one to Westerville Central at home. With a four way tie of teams at 2-1, this matchup is highly important for both Grove City and Gahanna Lincoln as they look to win a league title. These teams are evenly matched and have similar star players, as both backcourt and front court stars are seniors. There haven’t been many big men in the area able to slow down Grove City’s Kraig Gilbert, but if anyone in the Ohio division is capable of doing that, it might be Gahanna Lincoln’s Jonathan Whiteside. Look for this to be yet another classic battle in the OCC-Ohio.
