We are only a week away from the start of the district tournament. The tournament draw feels forever away by now, as teams finish up the regular season before all games become win-or-go home. Here are some of the top games to watch on Tuesday in Central Ohio. We are using the seeds determined by MaxPreps for this article.
#16 Westerville South (13-7) at #7 Licking Heights (16-4)
Licking Heights is testing itself in a big way this week before they make their ascent toward the district finals next week. The Hornets open the week with No. 16 Westerville South before taking on nearby rival and No. 8 Reynoldsburg on Friday. Licking Heights received its highest seed in its history being Division I, but have struggled a bit as of late, losing last Friday to Watkins Memorial in a rivalry game. Westerville South presents a much bigger challenge as the Wildcats have one of the elite players in all of Ohio in junior Kruz McClure. This will be a clear indicator if Licking Heights is ready to compete at the highest level, as Westerville South is a back-to-back district champion.
