Season Preview: Central Catholic League
Bishop Hartley aims for a repeat league title and eyes a state title run in Division III
COLUMBUS, OH - With just four teams, the Central Catholic League may be short on depth, but should give fans plenty of reasons to watch. While each team has notable players to keep an eye on, the storyline of the season is whether Bishop Hartley has the goods to build off their impressive 23-4 season and conference championship.
It will be head coach Andreas James’ third season with the Hawks and each season has shown noticeable improvement. It helps he has at the helm a pair of experienced guards in brothers Jaden and Jakhi Calloway. Jaden, a senior and a recent Gannon commit, averaged over 14 points and 3.5 assists per game. Jakhi, a junior who picked up three Division I offers this past summer, had nearly identical numbers and was just under 14 points along with 3.6 assists per game. Both brothers were named All-CCL.
