Raiders shut down Panthers to win back-to-back district titles
COLUMBUS, Ohio - - Aiming for back-to-back district championships, the Reynoldsburg Raiders came out focused and locked in, putting on a show against fellow OCC mate Pickerington North. The state runner-ups from last season stamped the win with a 14-3 second quarter advantage that put the Raiders in cruise control the rest of the game.
“The three things we talked about take away transition, got to give them one shot and we got to guard,” head coach Andy Moore began to speak about the plan going into the game. “We started off slow this year because we didn’t guard anybody and now I feel like we’re starting to guard people.”
Despite holding only a three-point lead after the first quarter, Reynoldsburg came out in the second quarter and buckled down on the defensive end, allowing one field goal and giving up one made free throw in the frame.
