LEWIS CENTER, OH - With the pep band playing loudly in the background at “The Pit”, something had to give on the hardwood between two of the hottest teams in central Ohio Tuesday night.

#10 Gahanna-Lincoln and #8 Olentangy Orange squared off in a battle of two slow-starting squads who have since turned their seasons around. Lincoln began the season 3-4 but have roared back to a four game winning streak, including close wins at Grove City and at Desales.

Olentangy Orange began their state title defense at 1-4 with a myriad of injuries, but have since bounced back having also ripped off four straight including double digit dubs over Hilliard Bradley and Centennial over the weekend.

If there was a betting line for this one, the spread would be razor thin.

That was far from the outcome, however, as the Pioneers’ physicality was too much for the Lions in a game that was all but over after the third quarter. Olentangy Orange defended home court defeating Gahanna-Lincoln 67-43 via a spectacular performance.

Senior point guard Treyton Schroeder was disruptive all night, leading the charge defensively for the Pioneers
