Hilliard, OH - THE Olentangy Braves might be back.
In 2003, John Feasel Jr. followed in his father’s footsteps to become the girls’ head basketball coach at Olentangy. After 13 seasons, he transitioned to the boys’ side, and another nine years later, he continues to be a pillar of the Braves’ community. Blue and gold run through his veins, and after a 58-43 win over OCC foe Hilliard Davidson on Tuesday night, his confidence in his team is soaring.
“We play defense and we share the ball [this year],” coach Feasel said, “we shoot the ball really well and we have been stifling our matchups. Our guys don’t take bad shots because we care about each other. We are constantly looking for our teammates… or as we call them… brothers.”
Feasel has his boys humming out of the gate as their 5-0 start is the first of the legendary coach’s nine year tenure as the boys’ head coach. They have done it with elite ball movement, outside shooting, speed, depth, and a big man that is a handful to check.
