The top games around Central Ohio on Friday

The temperature may be dropping outside, however, the hoops are heating up in Central Ohio. Here are the top games to watch on Friday.

#6 (D2) Northland (0-2) at #3 (D3) Centennial (4-0)

City League dominance is on the line here as Northland takes an unusual 0-2 record on the road to upstart Centennial who is roaring with confidence. The Stars set a program-record for wins last season with 19 and own something Northland doesn’t - a win over Columbus Academy. Centennial relied on 36 points from junior wing Keon Bonner in an opening season win over Academy, while Northland fell to those same Vikings two weeks later. Northland has beaten Centennial 49 consecutive times with its last loss coming on Jan. 21, 2000 in a 64-63 loss. In order to get its 50th straight over the Stars, Northland will need to play better than it has in its last two games, close losses vs. the aforementioned Columbus Academy and Bishop Hartley. This is the most talented Centennial team in over a decade and with a win, the Stars would put themselves in the driver’s seat to represent the north division in the City League championship for the first time ever.
