Division I Top 25 - Week 4
Reynoldsburg remains atop Division I despite a double overtime loss to Cleveland St. Ignatius
Last week presented a handful of ranked matchups that resulted in some changes for this week’s rankings. Here is the latest top 25 in Division I.
1. Reynoldsburg (5-1)
Last Week: #1
Last Week Games: W at #21 Dublin Coffman, L vs. Cleveland St. Ignatius (Capital)
This Week Games: Friday at #3 Newark
Bottom line: Reynoldsburg has faced the toughest schedule in Central Ohio and is a last minute collapse away from being 6-0. The Raiders have handled business in the area and still have Ohio’s best win over Richmond Heights. We get another top three matchup when the Raiders travel to No. 3 Newark on Friday for what should be a very entertaining matchup.
2. Delaware Hayes (5-0)
Last Week: #3
Last Week Games: W at #15 Marysville, W at #2 Westerville North
This Week Games: Tuesday vs. #24 Worthington Kilbourne, Friday at #17 Westerville South
Bottom line: Delaware Hayes went into Westerville North and handled business on Friday night. The Pacers picked up two ranked road wins without junior forward Landon Vanderwarker. They have two more ranked matchups this week as they look to remain unbeaten.
3. Newark (3-0)
Last Week: #4
Last Week Games: W vs. Olentangy Berlin
This Week Games: Tuesday vs. #8 Olentangy Liberty, Friday vs. #1 Reynoldsburg, Saturday vs. Dayton Northridge
Bottom line: Newark has played three games in three weeks. This week, they’ll play three games in five days. The Wildcats have two top 10 home games against high quality competition in Olentangy Liberty and Reynoldsburg. The Wildcats already have a top 10 win from earlier in the year when they went into Pickerington Central and knocked the Tigers off. Can they add two more great wins to the resume?
