COMMITTED: Josh Henderson to Akron

The Westerville Central senior talked about his decision to join coach John Groce and the Zips

COLUMBUS, OH - Over the last two months, Westerville Central senior Josh Henderson’s recruitment took a major leap, as he collected a dozen offers and became one of the more sought-after prospects in Central Ohio.

After narrowing his lists of offers to three schools, Henderson made his commitment to the Akron Zips last Friday in front of friends and family at Westerville Central, which was a celebratory moment to kick off his senior season on the second day of the school year.

“Akron felt like a place where I could thrive, in my faith, basketball wise and as a human being. That’s really what counts to me,” Henderson said.

After he received an offer from the Zips at the end of June, Henderson took an unofficial visit on August 5th which is when he felt like he had found his new home.
