COLUMBUS, OH - Winning a league championship is never easy. Winning three in a row is a gauntlet.
That is the threshold Bishop Hartley (14-4, 4-1) was looking to achieve Friday night. With a win in front of their passionate home fans, the Hawks could lock up their third straight Central Catholic League championship; a feat that hasn’t been achieved since the 1960s.
Ever since Andreas James has taken over the program, all the Hawks have done is win. The year before James took the reins, Hartley went 10-18 overall and 0-8 in the conference. Since then, the Hawks have gone 13-7 in league play with back-to-back CCL crowns.
Standing in their way from a three-peat: Bishop Watterson (16-4, 4-1), who came in determined to slay the giant.
