Battle For The City Top Performers (2027)

GROVE CITY, OH - The 9th annual 270 Hoops Battle For The City took place last week at Central Crossing High School, our yearly postseason invite-only showcase that features some of the top players in the region.

The 2027 class was the second game on Wednesday night. In previous years, we put players from the Ohio Capital Conference against a combination of smaller conferences such as the Columbus City League, Central Catholic League, Mid-State League and more.

This year was an East vs. West format, with Interstate 71 as the dividing line. The new approach gave us more competitive games, which made it fun for players and fans in attendance.

Below were the rosters for the 2027 class:

East

Albee Moore - Pickerington Central

Antwon Pollard - Harvest Prep

Carter Crabtree - Philo

Jackson Kirura - Genoa Christian

JD Broomfield - Eastmoor Academy

Myles Jarrett - Mifflin

Tybron Brooks - Newark

West

Brady Michaels - Dublin Scioto

Breaker Heller - Westland

Charlie Guth - Dublin Coffman

Izzy Ludaway - Franklin Heights

Keon Bonner - Centennial

Luke Mitchell - Upper Arlington

MikeMike Daniels - Bishop Ready

Rusty Trout - Philo

Thomas Cochran - Dublin Coffman

This one went down to the wire! The West team made a furious comeback to push the game into overtime. In a “first to score” format, Antwon Pollard scored the game-winning shot on the first possession to secure a 115-113 victory.

I was impressed with each player at various moments, but had to make some difficult cuts to narrow down the select list of Top Performers.

Check out below to see who stood out the most.
