Battle For The City: 2024 Top Performers

GROVE CITY, Ohio - - In the 8th annual Battle For The City, the 2024 class got a chance to shine for one last time while wearing their high school jersey’s, and they showed up for a great ball game to close out the day.

The OCC All-Stars extended a late lead as the Central Ohio All-Stars tried to take a lead and ended the game as 98-77 winners of an entertaining game. Every player that entered the game got on the stat sheet, showing unselfish play throughout the duration of the contest.

It was hard to narrow down the list to the best seven that stood out, but these are the seniors that elevated their games last Wednesday and impressed at Battle For The City.

Derek Goodman ( 6’5 Shooting Guard / Olentangy Berlin): A consistent player over the four years of his Olentangy Berlin career, the Ohio Dominican commit was named MVP of the senior game after putting together a good all-around game in his last time wearing a Bears uniform. Goodman had 14 points including some big shots down the stretch to push the lead of the OCC to an insurmountable one. He grabbed 8 rebounds and dished out five assists as well to show his ability to do a little bit of everything for his team. He showcased his knockdown three-point shooting ability as well as good touch at the basket as well. The future Panther will be a welcomed addition as he adds a different scoring punch and a hometown face to the roster.
